I am an Artist

I am an artist,
Not a person who draws
Sketches designs and characters
But they are artists too.
Only not the same as me
We are all brothers and sisters
Not twins or triplets

But any normal person
I dare to disagree
To chellenge the hidden lesson and truth,
behind the common saying
"All poodles are dogs,
But not all dogs are poodles."

Only a fool accepts that dare.

I may not paint nor sculpt
I may not sketch outlines
Or design the most fashionable clothes
And I've never been one
For putting on make-up
But despite this I do the same thing

A tell a story in words
Not pictures
I describe a scene
With a once blank page
I perfect my flaws
With a bloody red pen
And as all artists
Into every piece,
I pour out, my aggresion
Happiness
Pain
Sorrow
Excitement

Emotion.

What others create with rainbows
I create using mere black and white
Yet somehow,
It is more blinding with color
That a painting ever was

Letters, then words are how it begins
After that it's up to the artist
On how to continue
From paragraphs and chapters
To lines of poetry
Take your pick, get creative,
Its what an artist does

I am a writer
And as a poodle is a dog,
I too am an artist
I am a writer, and I am an artist.
